The Lay of the Land
If you have logged in, two things have changed: the areas, or Panes, of the page have been labeled and outlined, and you've been given tools and edit buttons to work with. As you survey the lay of the land, notice the Management Console at the very top. From the center of the Console, you will be adding Modules to your Panes; this is the principal way to build and add content to your site. For example, the text you are reading now is located in the Content Pane, and was placed here using a Text/HTML module.
When it comes to building your WebMedley site, the Text/HTML module is your main stock-in-trade. All the content that you see on this page was added using four separate Text/HTML modules. (There are three to the left of this one, in the Left Pane.) You'll do most of your work using these modules, so it's important to review our tutorials on working with text, images, tables and links.
The tutorials are all found in our Help Files, which can be accessed from the Quick Links at the left hand side of this page, or by browsing the Help/Support menu at www.webmedley2.com. The WebMedley Help Files are your main user guide, and are essential in learning how to build your site. Of course, you are always welcome to contact our tech support staff anytime between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm E.T. Monday - Friday. Just dial 1-800-434-8607.
Be sure to browse each page of your new site for tips and guidance on how to go about building your pages. We've included plenty of pointers along the way. All 'modules,' text, images, and even the design appearance here on your new site are for example only, and can be easily removed or changed as you begin building. Even the page names in the Menu Bar above can be changed by accessing the respective page settings. (To see what a new blank page looks like, click on the Test Page on the Menu Bar.)
Forge ahead! Just click any page on the menu above - we have a few more suggestions and examples we'd like to share.
| Quick Tip: When installing modules, only display the printer icon below if it is important that your users be able to print the contents of the module. To disable the icon, access the module's settings and uncheck the 'Allow Print' box. |
